I Am

i am a creature of the night
forced to live my life in daytime
by mediocre beings who realize not
the tranquility amidst starlight
by wicked beings who stalk the darkness
woe is me
this nocturnal being
who in callow years discovered
the mind perceives more wonders
whilst the view of the heavens hath smog not yet ablundered
when music from an orchestra of nature’s wind
and organic percussion
plays
and plays
on
and on
till the crack of dawn
till the rest of the land wakes
till the rumble of man’s machine shakes
the ground and the air
the music ends
the noise prevails
and i hide beneath the covers

How to reach Evelyn

Evelyn is a bit of a nomad.  She goes where the good Lord takes her – which is pretty much anywhere her current residence takes her.  From February to August 2012, her home will be a ship that sails between Miami FL and The Bahamas. Turtle Shell Living by The Cruising Shutterbug

As with most words and stuff that I toss out into the world wide web, this is another one of my habitual “Note To Self” thingies to help me remember, to save me time and Googling or Yahoo-ing minutes, to help me keep my simple nomadic life simple, to share information that may be useful

“She told me she’d be happy to stare into his eyes all day… That’s not how a marriage should be.  You should be side by side, facing the world, not looking into each other’s eyes all day.” – A.J. Jacobs quoting his grandmother in his book “The Year of Living Biblically”

But I am like an olive tree growing in the house of God; I trust in His constant love forever. – Psalm 52:8

“We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.” – Marianne Williamson, “A Return to Love:

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime. – Mark Twain, 1835-1910
